Where: SeeMeOn Gallery, address: 29 Tsar Simeon St.

Start time: 19:00

Fespa Bulgaria will combine the exhibition with music, a glass of Christmas wine, and a few gifts.

Print. Test. Art is an original project by Nadezhda Georgieva and Sito Studio, curator: Martina Stefanova, Doma Art Foundation. In partnership with Fespa Bulgaria as part of our project to work with artists experimenting with print and printing techniques.

The event is part of the Christmas program of Sofia's art district "KvARTal" - through the familiar streets in the block between Dondukov Blvd., Maria Luiza Blvd., Levski Blvd., and Slivnitsa Blvd. between December 13-15. Starting Friday evening, you can stroll through the district and enjoy mulled drinks, music, lights, board games, bazaars, dances, Christmas decorations, delicacies, and workshops for all ages.

After the opening, over the course of three days, we will be able to learn and try out screen printing techniques, as well as experience art as a result of multi-layered, unexpected processes. Here is the exhibition program:

December 13: Opening, party, and music with Fespa Bulgaria, 7:00 PM, @SeemMeOn29
December 14: Giant Test Print Workshop, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, @SitoStudio
December 15: Meet-and-greet with guests and artists, finissage, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM, @SeeMeOn29

More about Print. Test. Art.
a conceptual exhibition of serigraphs and objects

What happens when, instead of discarding them, we keep the samples made before a work is created? What happens when art is actually created during a testing process, and a single work becomes collective?

At Sito Studio, serigraphy is printed by hand, without machines, and the paper is always different. One of the most interesting results of this process is the beauty of the "test print." Each color is printed separately, and therefore, before starting the actual print run, printer artists often test the first impression. For this purpose, they work with old papers, sheets from previous editions, and poorly printed images. Test prints accumulate new images, one by one, from different or identical projects.

In 2015, Nadezhda Georgieva (Sito Studio), drawn by the beauty of experimentation, decided to collect the test prints one by one instead of discarding them. Initially, she only used her own prints, but over time, she began working with pieces by more and more artists who work in the studio. The exact list is unknown. Among the artists are Boris Pramatarov, Viktoria Georgieva (MOUSE), Desi Baeva, Emanuil Sergiev, Nikolay Petrov (Glow), Nikoleta Nosovska, Rostislav Marinov, FontFabric, and others.

The layers formed by the diverse artists' creations result in a collective abstract work, closer to contemporary art than to its original intention. We will explore this live from December 13-15 at the @SeeMeOn29 gallery (29 Tsar Simeon St.).
